Pastured Poultry

Our birds are raised on grass pastures with plenty of fresh air and sunshine as part of our multi-species grazing rotation. No hormones, no antibiotics – ever! Taste the difference of eating eggs and chickens raised the old-fashioned way – more flavor in every bite.

Did you know that eggs from pastured poultry that eat bugs, bask in the sun, and eat fresh greens have three to six times the Vitamin D of eggs from chickens raised in confinement? Vitamin D is important for building strong bones and may enhance our immune system. Pastured poultry eggs are also lower in cholesterol and saturated fat, higher in Vitamin A, have two times more omega-3 fatty acids, and seven times more Beta carotene according to recent studies. Another added benefit is egg yolks are the richest known source of lutein, which is an antioxidant essential for the protection and health of your eyes. The deeper the yellow of the yolk, the more lutein and the more eye protection offered; pastured poultry produces a deeper yellow yolk than eggs from confined chickens.

All the benefits listed for our pastured poultry eggs are also in our meat birds and turkeys, plus they are lower in total and saturated fat than commercially raised birds. An added bonus is that the meat is rich in vitamins E, A, D and beta-carotene.

Eggs and meat chickens are available year-round, but our turkeys are available in the fall just in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.
